What do you get when you combine
über-famous footballers & Michelin-starred chefs?
A cool restaurant serving comfort food
with a {tasty} twist.
The Restaurant
Owned by Manchester United's Gary Neville & Ryan Giggs,
{they are very famous, says Mr K}
Café Football opened a few months ago
in Westfield Stratford, east London.
The interiors are 'pub meets trendy restaurant'
with comfy banquets and a bar.
As you'd expect, TV screens show the match of the hour,
but it's not annoying {for non-football fans, obviously}.
On the contrary, it adds
to the cheery laid-back ambiance of this place.
The Food
Café Football's menu was created
by Michelin-starred chef Michael Wignall.
And this says it all:
the food is absolutely delicious,
well cooked, with attention to detail.
You can choose between classic pub dishes,
like the {scrumptious} burgers, ribs & shepherd's pie,
or go for something lighter,
like the avocado prawn sandwich (yummy) & falafel kebab.
Tip: don't let the hearty portions stand between you
and the {divine} half-time orange dessert!
Little Touches
Café Football is very child-friendly.
The kids menu is simple with tried & tested dishes
{pasta, pizza, burgers} and generous portions.
Kids can choose their dessert
from the cute ice-cream bar/sweet shop
{a feature much appreciated by the Toddler}.
Plus, they get a balloon after finishing their meal
{needless to say, the Toddler was very impressed}.
