A Perfect Day in London with the Kids
{Kensington, Mayfair & St James's}
There are plenty of things to do with kids in London,
and, surprisingly, most of them won't cost you a penny.
Here's how to spend a nice family day out
with free activities and fun for the parents too.

Go there early in the morning to beat the crowds.
(Queensway & Bayswater are the closest stations).
The kids: since this is possibly the best playground in the world,
it's guaranteed children will have lots of fun
(the Toddler's favourites are the pirate ship and the musical garden).
The parents: there is a lovely cafe just outside,
so parents can enjoy a {peaceful} cup of coffee.

Next Stop
Hamley's toy store 6th floor, Regent Street.
Meet the Queen in person (well, almost).
(take the Central Line from Queensway Station
and alight at Oxford Circus - journey time 5 min).
The kids: this is the only spot in London
where you can photograph your little ones
next to HRM {Lego} Queen.
The parents: Regent Street is a shopping heaven.
Parents can take turns and go for mini shopping sprees.

Before Heading Home
St James' Park to feed the pelicans.
(you can walk from Regent Street,
via Piccadilly Circus - journey time 20 min).

St James' Park to feed the pelicans.

The kids: St James's Park is home to six pelicans.
Kids can watch the pelicans devour fresh fish
every day between 14:30 to 15:00.
The parents: Pick a bench just across Buckingham palace,
free the kids on the lawn and relax - you deserve it.
Diana Memorial Playground: open daily from 10am till dusk
Hamley's toy store: open daily, check opening times
St James's Park: the pelicans
I haven't taken the boys to Hamleys yet, but it's on the list! : )
